Adaptation to Climate Change: Training for Professionals

Lincoln Alves (INPE) and Pablo Borges (GIZ)
22 October 2024 – 24 October 2024
São José dos Campos, SP. Brazil
Short course
In-person

Description: With the significant increase in climate-related disasters and impacts, the need for climate risk assessments and the development of adaptation plans is growing rapidly in companies, sectors, and governments. However, the provision of these services is often limited by insufficient knowledge on the subject. Additionally, service providers face methodological challenges, especially in understanding climate scenarios and the lack of standards and guidelines. To respond to this growing demand, we propose a training program aimed at forming professionals specialized in developing climate risk assessments and adaptation plans. This course has been carefully designed to provide clear, concise, and updated information on climate change science, current legislation, climate services, as well as on available methods and tools for risk assessment and adaptation measures. Our goal is to empower professionals to increase climate resilience in Brazil. Be part of the solution to address the challenges of climate change. Join us in this essential course and become a qualified professional in climate change adaptation.
