High-Level International Conference on Glaciers’ Preservation – 2025

Are you an Early Career Researcher interested in presenting a lightning talk at the International Conference on Glaciers’ Preservation in Dushanbe, Tajikistan (May 29-31)?

The International Conference on Glaciers’ Preservation strives to establish the critical role glaciers play for local and regional communities and ecosystems, as well as the urgency in addressing their retreat, on the global agenda. We welcome contributions from ECRs in any relevant discipline that speak to, among other topics, cutting-edge glacier science, adaptation to glacier and snowpack loss, science-policy alignment, and action on glaciers.

This Conference supports the implementation of the United Nations General Assembly Resolution on the “International Year of Glaciers’ Preservation 2025”. Lightning talks will take place at one of twelve high-level “Thematic Sessions,” with a focus on latest glacier science that will also include senior researchers.

Travel support may be available to applicants from the Asia region, with support from the Asian Development Bank; otherwise, applicants largely should be able to support their own travel. A simplified and free visa process will be available to Conference participants.

If interested in applying, please submit a brief (1-2 pages) abstract/statement of interest and a short CV (3 pages max) to susana@iccinet.org

Target audience: Undergraduate students, Master’s students, PhD students, Early and mid-career researchers, Senior researchers, Government, Civil society organizations and media, Business sector, Marginalized groups (e.g. women, indigenous peoples)
