How Can We Support the Contributions on Women in the Water Industry?

Description
This workshop is being organised in tandem by the IWA Sustainability in the Water Sector Specialist Group and the IWA Young Water Professionals Community.

Our world’s complex water issues require contributions from a diverse workforce, including women. Yet, women continue to face challenges that impact their meaningful contribution to the water industry. As part of the Women in Water Project, driven by IWA’s Specialist Group on Sustainability in the Water Sector, the book, “Women in Water: How to Support Everyone’s Contribution”, explores some of these challenges and lessons learned in relation to opportunities and advancement, disrespectful behaviour, self-confidence, age, work-life balance, and mentoring.

The next phase of the Women in Water Project is to deliver a series of workshops that will present the information contained in the book and gather insights around into what women, men and organisations can do to address key challenges faced by women in the water industry.

This online workshop is a valuable opportunity for the YWP community to learn about and provide input into the Women in Water Project, contributing to a more equitable water industry in the long-term.

To collect the public’s insights on possible ways to address the challenges being faced by women in the water sector, the Specialist Group has developed a survey. You can access it here.

Thank you in advance for your kind cooperation!
