Dr. Pablo Borges de Amorim is a climate scientist and technical advisor specializing in hydrological modeling, climate risk assessment, and infrastructure resilience. He currently serves as a Technical Advisor for the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ), supporting climate change adaptation projects in Brazil. He is also a Scientific Steering Group Member of the WCRP Academy.
Pablo earned his PhD in Natural Sciences from the Dresden University of Technology, Germany, where he developed climate change scenarios for hydrological studies. His research integrates statistical downscaling, spatial interpolation, and climate model ensembles to support decision-making in water resource management and infrastructure planning.
He has contributed to projects focused on integrated water resource management (IWRM), extreme rainfall indices, and climate impacts on transmission infrastructure in Brazil. His work emphasizes tailoring climate information for local risk assessments and capacity development in vulnerable regions.
